George A. Mahramas 1968-2026

HOWLAND — George A. Mahramas Sr., 57, passed away Monday morning, Feb. 23, 2026, with his loving wife and children by his side.

George’s journey of life began on the island of Rhodes, Greece, on Oct. 1, 1968, where he was born to his mother, Evangelia, and his father, the late Anastasios Mahramas.

His family traveled to America when George was just 6 months old. He was a proud graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Class of 1986, and a first-generation college graduate of Kent State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance in 1991.

George met Gina, and their courtship began on Valentine’s Day 1992. They went on to become husband and wife on June 27, 1998, spending the next 27 years building their loving family.

George had an extensive career in finance and spent the last 14 years as the practice business manager with The Davis Frayman Financial Group of Raymond James and Associates.

In his younger years, George enjoyed playing Goya basketball and was a proud No. 53 Panther for Warren G. Harding’s football team. He also excelled as the head drummer of the marching band. His passion for the drums continued, and in more recent years, George also enjoyed loyally cheering on the Cleveland Browns and taking trips with his family and friends to Florida. Above all else, for George, family came first. He was a role model to his family as he was in his community, and he was ever-present in his children’s lives, encouraging all their activities, goals and accomplishments.

George will be missed more than words can say by his wife and love of his life, the former Gina Gambetti; children, George A. Mahramas Jr., Sophia Mahramas and family pet, Baylee; mother, Evangelia Mahramas; brother, Fotios “Frank” Mahramas; godchildren, Mikayla and Alekos Mahramas; nephews, Brandon (Maddie) Ciriello and Hunter Ciriello; and many loved relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by his father, Anastasios Mahramas; his in-laws, Ronald and Carolyn Gambetti; and his sister-in-law, Lisa Cartwright.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to George 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.

Additional calling hours will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 429 High St. NE, Warren, OH 44481.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis and the Rev. Demetri Constantine presiding.

Burial will follow in Howland Township Cemetery.
