WARREN -- Dorothy Marie Thompson Jewell of Warren, passed away at the age of 108 on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.
She was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Sheridan, Illinois, to Ralph and Mabel Curtis Thompson.
She graduated with the class of 1935, Kinsman.
Dorothy married Howard Jewell on Aug. 24, 1940, in Kinsman.
She worked for seven years in the IBM Department of Rubbermaid in Wooster and seven years in the Clerk of Courts Office in the Morrow County Courthouse. She assisted many years in Howard's Standardbred Horse and Auction businesses.
She was a member of Kinsman Presbyterian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Hartford Chapter No. 51.
She is survived by one brother, Charles (Linda) Thompson of Canton, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Howard Jewell, in January 2008; her parents; brothers, Ralph Jr., Donald, James and Clarence; and sister, Marjorie Mathews.
Calling hours will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Baumgardner Funeral Home in Kinsman, with a funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m.
Arrangements were handled by Baumgardner Funeral Service in Kinsman and burial will be in Kinsman Cemetery.
