WARREN -- Terrence P. "Terry" Steele, 73, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 4, 2026, at Select Specialty Healthcare in Boardman.
Terry was born Oct. 15, 1952, in Youngstown, to the late James and Catherine O'Neil Steele.
Terry was a 1971 graduate of Girard High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy. He was awarded an honorable discharge for his service.
Upon returning home, Terry began an extensive career working in the steel mill and manufacturing.
Outside of work, Terry loved watching sports. He enjoyed watching all of the Cleveland teams, but his heart bled scarlet and gray for The Ohio State Buckeyes. If a game was on, Terry was sure to be closely watching and cheering them on. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and coaching Little League in Girard. Most of all, Terry cherished his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Terry will always be remembered by his wife of 48 years, Julie Capito Steele of Warren; son, Terry (Dawn) Steele of Hilliard; grandson, Brendan Steele; sister, Noreen (Doug) Anstrom of Niles; in-laws, Gene (Lena "Bean") Szegedi of Warren; and nieces and nephews, Megan "Rosebud" Szegedi, Kim (Jim) Kish, Chris (Liz) Cowher, Matt (Lyndsie) Tenney and Mark Tenney.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Patty "Patsy" Capito; in-laws, Elaine Tenney and Ceil Capito; and many extended family and friends he cared for deeply.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Terry 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, Warren.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-St. James Church, 2532 Burton St. SE, Warren, OH 44484.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery.
Terry's family would like to thank Aglow Home Healthcare aides Juanita, Kim and Tiffany for their compassionate care towards Terry, and also the nursing staff at Specialty Care for their kindness and dedication.
