GIRARD -- Sandra L. Aubel, 81, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, at Hospice House.
She was born June 26, 1944, in Warren, a daughter of James and Inez Karr.
Sandra grew up in Leavittsburg and graduated high school in 1962. She retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital, where she worked in central supply and cherished the many friendships made through working there, especially her best buds, Linda and Pat.
Sandra loved spending time with her family -- bowling, going to the casino and playing bingo. She treasured the moments spent with her longtime friends from high school; together, they would go every year to the cabin in Canada, where they went fishing every July 4th until they said they were getting too old to get in and out of the boat.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Mike Pitts) Goranitis of Cortland; son, Joe (Terri) Aubel of Girard; sisters, Linda (Kevin) Hanni and Harriet Marks; brother, Alan Karr; grandchildren, Joana (Mike) Dittmer, George (Taylor) Goranitis, Peter (Crystal) Goranitis and Thora Goranitis; and great-grandchildren, Carly, Mason, Taylan, Keegan, Meela, Madeline and Lakelynn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, David and James, and a sister, Barbara.
Sandra shared a special bond with her sister Linda, whom she loved dearly. She was the best mother that we children could ask for; we were very blessed. Sandra was such a kindhearted soul, and everyone who met her loved her. She was already an angel before she got her wings.
There will be no services at this time.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
