WARREN -- Sammie E. Summerlin Sr., 61, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, at Austinwoods Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 2, 1964, in Warren, a son of Leo Sr. and Georgia May Summerlin.
He retired as a chef at Leo's Restaurant. He was a member of Hoyt Street Flourishing Ministries.
Survivors include his son, Sammie E. Jr. of Columbus; daughter, Ciarra Cayson; brothers, Willie, Jeremiah and Leo Jr. Summerlin; sisters, Nellie Haynes, Joyce Perry and Barbara Summerlin; three grandchildren; and special friend, Patricia Davis, all of Warren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home, Warren, with services at noon.
