Rodney ‘Steve’ Canfield 1950-2026

WARREN -- Rodney "Steve" Canfield, 75, passed away at 7 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at Community Skilled Health Care Center, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Steve was born May 19, 1950, in Bim, W.Va., and was a 1968 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.

Steve will always be remembered by his wife, Nancy Canfield, of Warren, and daughter, Cindy (Tom) Paul of Champion. Survivors also include three grandsons, Brian, Christopher and Dustin Newbury of Warren; a granddaughter, Stephanie (Adam) Delfs of Kent; two great-grandchildren, Della and Mathew of Warren; a sister, Kathy Redeck, also of Warren; many nieces and nephews; and his furry granddogs, Bisquick and Teddy, whom he loved.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael; his daughter, Kelly; brother, Mark; and nephew, Marky.

A self-employed carpenter all his life, Steve loved watching sports. He enjoyed watching all of the Cleveland teams, but he was a true Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and camping.

Most of all, Steve enjoyed his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place. There are no services at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Monetary contributions can be made to the ACS Hope Lodge in Cleveland in Rodney's name.
