Richard D. Jones 1967-2026

He was born May 10, 1967, in Warren, a son of Richard George Jones and Linda Rodgers Hughley, residing in the area for five years, coming from Warren.

Richard was employed with Speedway for three years as a clerk. He was a 1985 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School.

He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1991 during the Gulf War, receiving several honors.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

He leaves to mourn one son, Richard Darnell Jones Jr. of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; his mother, Mrs. Linda Hughley of Warren; one brother, Larry Dean Simpson Jr. of Warren; one sister, Ms. Sonja Caprice Jones of Warren; two stepbrothers, Cecil Stephens and Renza (Dawn) Hughley Jr., both of Canton; four stepsisters, Ms. Rhonda Jackson of Covington, Georgia, Mrs. Regina (Michael) Lee of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Marilyn (Robert) Allen of Warren and Mrs. Sharon (Jerald) Dunlap of Streetsboro; one grandchild; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard G. Jones; one sister, Ms. Nicole Allen; and one stepsister, Ms. Shelby Jones.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m.
