HUBBARD -- Marilyn J. Sloan, 84, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026.
She was born March 4, 1941, in Warren, a daughter of Robert and Edna Hill Young.
Marilyn, a lifelong area resident and member of Coalburg Methodist Church, was a secretary for Trumbull Savings and Loan, and Trumbull County Children Services for many years.
She was a 1959 graduate of Newton Falls High School. She babysat all of her grandchildren and loved spending time with all her children, stepchildren, grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.
Marilyn leaves her husband, James A. Sloan, whom she married Aug. 28, 1992; two sons, Greg Urick and his wife, Denise of Fowler, and Pete Urick and his wife, Debbie of Warren; four stepsons, Steve Sloan of Cranberry, Pa., Michael Sloan and his wife, Beth, James Sloan and his wife, Wendy of Windsor and Dennis Guerrero and his wife, April, all of Hermitage, Pa.; a daughter, Vikki Spencer and her husband, Jerry of Sharpsville, Pa.; and two sisters, Shirley (Al) Berger of Arkansas Pass, Texas, and Linda (Ed) Zelinski of Odenton, Maryland.
Marilyn also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Young and Robert Young; a stepdaughter; Deborah Sloan; and a grandson, Jacob Sloan.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at The Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home, and at Coalburg United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, with Richard Tate officiating.
