Janice L. Adkins Gray 1940-2025

WARREN -- Janice L. Adkins Gray, a cherished pillar of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, in Warren, at the venerable age of 85.

Born Sept. 29, 1940, in Sharon, Pa., Janice's life was a tapestry of love, friendship and enduring family bonds.

A graduate of Howland High School, Janice dedicated her life to the noble vocation of homemaking. Her unwavering commitment to her family created a nurturing home where laughter and love were in abundant supply. The Christian values that guided her life were reflected in the kindness she extended to everyone she met and in the harmonious environment she cultivated for her loved ones.

Janice's life was a melody, rich with the notes of her favorite pastimes--singing, dancing and composing poetry. Her voice, whether lifted in song or woven through the verses of her poems, was a source of joy for all who had the privilege of listening. Friends and family will fondly remember the grace with which Janice moved across a dance floor, a testament to her belief in celebrating life's moments to the fullest.

As the matriarch of a large and loving family, Janice's legacy is carried on through her sons, Michael (Mickey), Denny, Barry, and Randall; and the numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Ray Adkins; son, Roe Paul Adkins; and grandson, Barry Adkins Jr.

Those who knew Janice will attest that she was the embodiment of thoughtfulness. Her friendly demeanor and loving nature created a circle of friendship that extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a beacon of light in her community, offering a smile or a helping hand wherever it was needed.
