WEST FARMINGTON -- Geraldine Soltis Dines, 83, a resident of West Farmington and Trumbull County for most of her life, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026, at Southgate Senior Living in St. George, Utah.
She was born Feb. 28, 1942, in Warren, a daughter of Emil F. and Bernice M. Yahraus Soltis.
Geraldine was an amazing teacher, passionately encouraging her students to appreciate math at Farmington and Bristol Schools.
She was active in the Women's Guild, Golden Agers President and NAIM Club Treasurer at St. William Catholic Church, and she enjoyed volunteering, traveling, decorating for Christmas, a great fish fry, dishing out a good zinger and playing nickel slots.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Debby Dines of Madison, Wisconsin; son, Mike Dines of Mesquite, Nevada; and a sister, Judith Soltis.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dines and brother, Anthony Bouvier.
She was a loved, charismatic woman, and her absence will be deeply felt.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, St. William Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at the funeral home, before processing to the church.
Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, West Farmington.
