NORTH BLOOMFIELD -- Donna J. Gwinn, 76, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at her home.
Donna was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Philippi, W.Va., a daughter of Brooks and Reva Blake.
She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and devoted many years of service as the superintendent's secretary for the Bloomfield School District.
Shortly after high school, Donna married the love of her life, Jack A. Gwinn, on July 25, 1970. Together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage and raised their family.
In her younger years, Donna and Jack enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling, boating, camping and spending time at the beach. She loved being active in her daughters' lives -- whether through sports, school activities or Girl Scout troops. Later in life, she especially enjoyed attending car shows with Jack and riding alongside him in his hot rods.
Donna had a deep love for the outdoors and took great pride in tending to her flower beds and working in her yard. She also enjoyed crafting, decorating her home and creating a warm, welcoming space for her family.
Above all, Donna cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her mother, Reva Blake; her daughters, Misty Mahan, Tiffany (Brannon) Murphy and Christy "Babe" (Justin) Roper; and her beloved grandchildren, Brooke, Wyatt, Bodhi and Reagan Mahan; Dellanie, Paisley and Graylee Murphy; and Arlington, Huxton, Kipton and Brigston Roper. She is also survived by her sisters, Clara "Snooks" (Herald) Hathaway, Rita (Joe) Kook and Shelley (Mark Bresenham) DeMartini; along with many nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Brooks Blake; her beloved husband, Jack A. Gwinn, who passed away Aug. 22, 2018; her brothers, Williard and Eddie Blake; her sister, Brenda Dama; her niece, Amy Kook; and her nephews, Shannon Gwinn, Tommy Molinatto and "Little" Williard Blake.
Family and friends may visit 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren, with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m., officiated by Pastor Garry "Pete" Hennessy.
A private burial will take place at a later date in Brownwood Cemetery.
