Dolores R. McNeilly 1928-2026

WARREN -- Dolores Reibold McNeilly, 97, passed away Thursday, Jan.15, 2026.

She was the wife of Robert E. McNeilly for 63 years and lived the majority of her married life in Champion.

She was born in Boardman on Sept. 27, 1928, to William C. Reibold and Martha B. Nordquist Reibold. After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School, she began a career at Thomas Steel Corp. in Warren. It was there that she met her husband, Robert.

She and Robert built their own home in the early 1950s on Champion Street East for their family of three girls, Susan Hoolihan (Jimmy), Jill Day (Rick) and Maureen Rowland (Greg). In the mid-1960s, the family moved to Doris Jean Drive as they welcomed their son, Steven.

Dolores was a member of Champion Presbyterian Church, the Mariners' Club and the CCL Women's Club, where she held numerous leadership positions. She worked as a sales associate at the former Country Classics Clothing Boutique.

Dolores loved to host friends and family in her home for fun, socializing, games and dinner parties. She also enjoyed sewing for her children and home; she also created and sewed quilts for each of her graduating grandchildren. She loved traveling to a variety of different cities and states with Robert to visit her children and support her grandchildren play sports or participate in musical orchestras and marching bands.

In addition to her four children, Dolores leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many beloved family pets.

She will be laid to rest in Champion Township Cemetery following a celebration of life service at the cemetery chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026.
