WARREN -- Virginia Marie "Ginger" Rassega, 84, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at Armstrong Memory Care, Champion.
Ginger was born Feb. 5, 1941, in Warren, a daughter of Andrew and Sophie Bogetsky Kuriatnyk.
Ginger was a 1958 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Ginger married her high school sweetheart, Gerald J. "Jerry" Rassega, on April 11, 1959; he passed away on Feb. 6, 2024. They shared 64 years together.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela J. Hietikko (Andrew); son, Peter G. Rassega (Lynnae); and grandchildren, Christopher Hietikko, PJ (Ruthie) Rassega, Paige (Chad) Mitchell, Pierce (Della) Rassega, Mason Rassega and Max Rassega. She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, PJ III, Liam, Roman, Remington, Carmella, Jameson and Nico, and one on the way; and her sister, Doris "Dolly" Kelley of Espyville, Pa.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Andy Kuriatnyk, Ed Kuriatnyk and Arlynne Caldwell.
Ginger was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Vienna.
Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a prayer service at noon Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, at Staton Borowski Funeral Home, with Father Brian Cline officiating.
A special thank you to the staff of Armstrong Memory Care for the love and support Ginger and her family were shown while she was a resident. Each of you has helped in too many ways to list. Your kindness to our mother has been a blessing.
