WARREN -- Vadis G. Osborn, 94, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Vadis was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Upshur, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank and Bessie Newlon Carpenter.
At the age of 15, she married the love of her life, Lida J. Osborn, on July 4, 1946, before Lida went into the military.
She worked as a bank teller, an elevator operator and a switchboard operator. She enjoyed spending time with her family, whether they were traveling or playing cards. She also enjoyed the outdoors, crocheting and was an avid cake decorator.
Vadis will be deeply missed by her daughter, Caron J. (Jon) Kovacs; grandchildren, Jonathan S. (Erica Tornes) Hart and Jocelyn C. (Sean) Dougherty; step-grandchildren, Eric J. Kovacs and Jennifer D. (Lee) Silvis; great-grandchildren, Chelsea (Joel) Woodhall, James Osborn, Landin Hart, Christopher Hart, Lucas Larcomb, Asher Dougherty, Cord Kovacs, Quinn Kovacs and Samuel Silvis; great-great-grandchildren, Juliette and Oliver Woodhall; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lida J. Osborn, who passed away in 2015; son, David J. Osborn; grandsons, David S. Osborn, William J. Osborn and Thomas J. Osborn; and brothers, Denver, Lester and Darell Carpenter.
Family and friends may visit 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren. Funeral services will follow at noon.
Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
