Starling D. Corley 1934-2025

WARREN -- Starling D. "Star" Corley, 91, peacefully went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.

She was born Aug. 3, 1934, in Parcoal, W.Va. Growing up in Valley Head, Starling graduated from Tygart Valley High School, where she proudly served as head majorette.

At just 18 years old, she moved to Warren, where she would build her life and career. She worked faithfully for 39 years, as an inspector at Packard Electric and, during that time, she also had her own column in the Cablegram.

In her spare time, Starling enjoyed sewing, teaching Bible stories, working outdoors on her property and spending time with her family. Above all, her greatest passion was reading her Bible and sharing the true, unconditional love of Jesus Christ with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neville and Ernestine "Teen" Corley; her brother, Kenneth "Jim" Corley; and her niece, Diane Keisman.

She is survived by her brother, Neville "Bud" Corley; her son, Timothy (Susan) Annabell; her two daughters, Cynthia (John) Thomas and Celeste (Walter) Barnes; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Starling's life was firmly rooted in faith. Her favorite scripture reflects the peace she lived by and lovingly shared with others: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." -- Philippians 4:6-7

Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
