Margaret F. Addicott 1934-2025

SHERIDAN, Wyo. -- Margaret Frances Addicott, 91, left her earthly family to go home to her heavenly family Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025. Her life was grounded in faith, service and devotion -- both to the people she loved and the passions that brought her joy.

For 54 years, Margaret lovingly raised Newfoundland dogs, a dedication that became one of her lifelong callings. Deeply involved in her community, she served as a Trumbull County 4-H advisor, a Boy Scout leader and a Girl Scout leader, touching the lives of countless young people over the decades. Her commitment to her community was recognized when she was named 1971 Citizen of the Year for Fowler Township.

Margaret had a generous spirit and a nurturing heart. She loved to cook, bake and read, and she shared her warmth freely with all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage; her sons, Todd Charles Addicott and Ashley John Addicott; and her siblings, Roberta Leonard, Dorothy Ireland and Harold Ireland.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Christine (Franklin) Castle of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Teresa (Kevin) Ellway of Cortland. She leaves a legacy of strength, kindness and quiet generosity.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Penn-Ohio Newfoundland Club, c/o David Hartmann, treasurer, 260 Old Mill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15238; and NEOFA, c/o Mark Scheel, treasurer, 4714 Leffingwell Road, Canfield, OH 44406.

The family extends special thanks to Jody's Angels and Fowler Community Church for their care, support and compassion, and to Pastor David Pykare and Roger Wood for delivering communion to her.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, at Dugan Cemetery in Fowler.
