NILES -- Judy Jamison, formerly of Newton Falls, went into the arms of God on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at the age of 81. She leaves behind a legacy of love to everyone who knew her. Judy passed in the presence of her loved ones after a long battle with illness.
Judy was born Oct. 15, 1944, in Warren, a daughter of mother, Dorothy Shuler Crooks Blair, and father, Emmett Ray Blair.
Judy married John T. Jamison on Oct. 10, 1964.
She is survived by her husband, John Jamison of Niles; her daughter, Carol Lee Glamm (Mark) of Chagrin Falls; her son, Timothy W. Jamison (Nora) of Mineral Ridge; her grandson, Joshua Jamison (Emily) of Babson Park, Florida; her granddaughter, Rebecca Hames (Ian) of Berlin Center; her grandson, Aaron Glamm of Chagrin Falls; her great-grandchildren, Grace and Ryan Hames, and Andrea Garnes; her brother, John Allen Crooks (Kay) of Newton Falls; her sister, Rosemary Cox (Bob) of Niles; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Judy in death were her parents, Emmett and Dorothy Blair; her sisters, Betty Chicko and Linda List; and her brothers, Hugh Blair and Charles Crooks.
Judy was a devout believer in God. Her service to the church began with volunteering in the nursery alongside her mother at a young age, where she developed a deep love for children. She was an active member of Newton Falls First Church of God from 1952 to 2016, and later, attended York Avenue Church of God. Judy served the church in innumerable ways throughout her life: some examples of her service were teaching Sunday school; helping with vacation Bible school; babysitting for church members; volunteering at Camp Marengo; being a tour guide for bus trips; delivering sermon cassettes to homebound church members; event planning; food preparation; and much more. Judy's acts of service extended outside of church walls through work with Meals on Wheels, the Red Cross, the Contact mental health and social services hotline, and Operation Shoebox. Judy had a strong calling for serving the poor and often helped the homeless and other people in need.
Judy was a member of many church and civic groups. She was a member of the Missionary Ladies Group, Faith Builders Sunday School, Eastside Church of God Women's Group, The Villages Sunday Tea Club and The Villages Ohio Club. She regularly attended the NEO Church of God Camp Meeting. It was said by many that "Judy never met a stranger."
Judy loved to travel throughout her whole life. She visited Disney World over 40 times and even made her way to Alaska and Hawaii. In later years, she spent her winters as a snowbird at The Villages in Florida.
Judy loved the Ohio State Buckeyes football team and claimed she never missed a game. She celebrated her 80th birthday and her 60th wedding anniversary by fulfilling her dream of attending a Buckeyes game in person.
Calling hours will be 3 to 5 p.m., with a funeral service at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Newton Falls First Church of God, 426 W. Broad St., Newton Falls, OH 44444. Please join the family for a meal after the funeral in the fellowship hall of the church.
