WARREN -- Jay B. "Big Jay" Sprague, 81, of Warren, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born July 12, 1944, in Warren, a son of the late Vernon F. Sprague and the late Myra Ruth Palmer Sprague.
On Dec. 23, 1973, He married Judy Gardner and they spent the next 45 years together, until her passing in 2018.
Jay retired from GM Lordstown after working for over 40 years.
He enjoyed Bingo at St. Joseph and Mary in Newton Falls, Watching the Steelers, Cavaliers and Ohio State, going out to eat with his brothers and spending time with his grandkids.
Left to carry on his legacy are his children, Curt (Lisa) LeMon of Champion, Kim (Ronald) Harper of Bazetta, Lisa Cononico of Warren; grandchildren, Tyler, Garrett (Allie), Ronald Jr. (Jacob), Jay B. III, Rocco, Gia, Patrick and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Jaycub, Lucas, Mia, Peyton, Jennavieve, Despina and Jackson; and brothers, Butch, William and Russell Sprague.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy D. Sprague; son, Jay B. Sprague Jr.; grandsons, Joshua B. Sprague and Zach LeMon; brothers, John and Denny Sprague; sister, Nancy Naylor; as well as his parents.
Services will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Jay's brother, Pastor William A. Sprague, will officiate.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4, 2025, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
