WARREN -- Doris Thompson, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025, at Windsor House at Champion.
She was born May 17, 1928, in Salisbury, England, a daughter of the late William Springfield Poney and the late Elsie Hatti Poney.
Doris graduated from high school in England and was a homemaker. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Order of the Eastern Star. Doris enjoyed volunteering and helping others.
Surviving are her son, George W. (Trudy) Thompson of Warren; daughter, Patricia (Don) Smith, also of Warren; six grandchildren, Kimberly LaFrance-Williams, Paul Thompson, Christine Andrews, Cheri Thompson, Brenda Parise and Nicole Rabel; as well as four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Dominic and Ali Parise, and Jake Thompson.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul E. Thompson; a son, Raymond L. Thompson; and five brothers and sisters, all of England.
There are to be no calling hours or services. Her remains will be laid to rest with her husband in Florida National Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
