Alonzo D. Kirksey Sr. 1977-2025

He was born May 26, 1977, in Warren, the son of David Alonzo Thigpen and Charlotte Kirksey.

Alonzo attended Warren City School and later earned his GED. He worked with carnivals and their equipment for many years. Alonzo was a great dog lover and raised many, and he was most fond of pit bulls. He was very good at exercising and others sought his counsel. He loved all sports, particularly the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, his joy in life was family, especially his two granddaughters. Relaxation to Alonzo was good music.

Precious memories of Alonzo live on with his children, Alondria Washington (Dez Grant) of Warren, Alonzo Kirksey Jr. of Akron and Zoey Kirksey, also of Akron; two beautiful granddaughters, Paradise and Symphony; his sister, Tanressa Poe (Patrick) of Niles; four brothers, Anthony Kirksey (Lasonya Mitchell) of Youngstown, Jason Kirksey of Virginia, Shane Barber, also of Virginia, and Alonzo Thigpen (Ila) of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who looked up to him and will miss him.

His parents; his nephew, Marjay Kirksey, and his niece, Latavia Kirksey, preceded him in death.

Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 6 p.m., with his uncle, Bishop Sammie L. Smith, officiating. All who knew and loved Alonzo are welcome to attend and celebrate his good life.
