Michael J. Popadak 1947-2025

WARREN -- Michael J. Popadak, age 78, entered into eternal rest Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at Washington Square Nursing Home.

He was born Oct. 8, 1947, in Warren, the son of John E. and Leona Franko Popadak.

Mike was a 1965 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and retired as a reliability manager for General Motors. To say Mike was adventurous would be an understatement. He ran All-American Flag Pole Company, a company his parents started, and later All-Pro Cards and Comics. He moved to Florida to start a business working on cars. He used to race at Sharon Speedway. His favorite car was a Cadillac, having owned five or six. He was a great enthusiast of everything from baseball to hot rods, from Harleys to guns. And what better way to celebrate his life than during Ohio State-Michigan week.

Mike belonged to the American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Viet Nam Veterans.

Precious memories of Mike live on with his six children: John E. Popadak II (Christine) of Niles, Sandi Auslam of Chico, California, Mike Popadak (Libby) of Sunbury, Amanda Ellsworth (Richard) of Hubbard, Tom Popadak (Shannon) of Warren and Dan Popadak (Angel) of Rome; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Geraldine Popadak of Michigan, Georgiann Phillips (Pat) of Cortland and Joan Popadak of New York.

His parents preceded him in death.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday. All who knew and loved Mike are welcome to attend and celebrate his one-of-a-kind life.

Interment will be conducted privately at St. Mary's Cemetery in Warren.

The family would like to thank Traditions Hospice and Laurie Spier for their professional manner and compassionate care, and the same to Washington Square Nursing Home and Marilyn, Cory, and Debbie. These kind people have been a true blessing to Mike and his family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, 330-394-6200. Dedicated To Serving Your Loved Ones. This obituary may be viewed and condolences sent to www.statonborowskifuneralhome.com.
