NILES -- Michael E. Kensek, 89, passed away peacefully, Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Born Aug. 11, 1936, in Crucible, Pa., he was the son of Joseph and Ann Kois Kensek. He moved to the Warren area in his youth and made the Mahoning Valley his lifelong home.
Mike was an Army veteran and later worked for many years at Copperweld until his retirement. He was a longtime devoted member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.
Known for his hardworking nature and sense of humor, Mike loved talking with people and sharing stories wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yong Kensek, who passed away in 2004; his parents; and his siblings, Nellie Siko, Rose Medunick, Bridget Siko, John Kensek and Joseph Kensek.
Michael leaves behind several beloved family members, including his nieces and nephews, extended relatives and friends who will remember him fondly.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Michael from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 381 Robbins Ave., Niles.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warren Family Mission, warrenfamilymission.org.
