James W. Gintert

WARREN — James W. Gintert passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at the age of 95.

Jim was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Leavittsburg. He was the middle child of the late Russell and Eva Stocker Gintert.

Jim served for two years as a supply clerk in the United States Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.

Jim was a bricklayer by trade. He retired from Copperweld Steel at the age of 56, where he was the superintendent of the mason and labor departments. He was a master woodworker who built many beautiful pieces of furniture for his loved ones.

Jim was a member of the Trumbull County Bird Dog Association. He was a field trial judge and trained English pointers, as he had a passion for quail and pheasant hunting with his bird dogs. His favorite dog was named Belle.

Jim married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jane Scott, on June 16, 1951; they had 74 wonderful years together. Both enjoyed golf, especially when wintering in Florida with their Canadian friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Gintert; his daughters, Susan Dellinger and Lorri Baudo; his son, Jim and his wife, Lynda; grandchildren, Brandon (Carly) Gintert, Kate (Mat) Hartung, Jeff (Jessica) Dellinger, Matt Baudo and Joe Baudo; and great-grandchildren, Claire Gintert, Chad Hartung, Ben Gintert, Lucy Dellinger, Cora Hartung and Cruiz Hartung. He is also survived by his sister, Judie Gill, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Gintert; and his son-in-law, David Baudo.

Jim was a faithful member of First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where services will begin at noon Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, with Pastor John Jaros officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
