Donna J. Nicholas 1933-2025
CHAMPION — Donna Jean Nicholas, 92, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Windsor House at Champion.
Donna was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Warren, the daughter of Kenneth and Marguerite Berry.
A proud 1951 graduate of Leavittsburg High School, Donna was the loving wife for 66 years of Perry Nicholas until his passing on Aug. 8, 2018; together, they built a life full of love and family.
Donna is survived by her brother, Kenneth Lee Berry; three sons, Craig (Tammy) Nicholas, Bruce (Stacey) Nicholas and Perry (Bethia) Nicholas; and daughter, Lisa (Robert) Zadai. She will be dearly missed by her 12 grandchildren, Natalie (Jim) Antil, Abby (Quinn) Sanders, Olivia (De’Veon) Smith, Carina (Chris Altier) Nicholas, Jaimie Craley, Jessica (Jordan) Dickey, Elizabeth Craley, Andy Craley, Leah (John) Haug, Jessica (Jake) Azzarello, Emma (Quintin) Ratliff and Sabrina (Najee) Pate. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, Axel, Genevieve, Parker, Presley, Kane, Blake, Phoenix, Savannah, Remington, Scout, Tatum, Carter, Rhys, Ada, Nicholas, Harper and Willow; as well as many other beloved family members.
Donna will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family.
Her role as “Meemaw” brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the annual summer vacations to Myrtle Beach with the entire family.
In addition to her family, Donna found great joy in her friendships and in playing Texas hold ’em. She proudly earned a championship bracelet in the annual tournament for the Champion Poker Society, where she enjoyed the camaraderie of many friends.
Donna’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her; her spirit, kindness and strength will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have shared in her life.
A service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
