WARREN -- Charles T. Wolbert Sr., 79, passed away peacefully, Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving children.
Charles was born Oct. 11, 1946, in Warren, to the late Eugene S. and Roseanne Moore Wolbert. He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, Josephine Marie Wolbert.
A proud 1964 graduate of St. Mary High School, Charles was a member of the Turnpike Conference Championship football team. He then proudly served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge for his service.
Charles retired from Delphi Packard Electric, enjoying a successful and rewarding career. Known as "Chico," he displayed exceptional leadership and was actively involved in the Warren sports community. A lifetime member of the YMCA, he garnered many accolades, including his accomplishments in softball and basketball, coaching youth baseball and serving as a commentator for the Total Trumbull Sports Network during high school football games. He was a Warren Sports Hall of Fame member and trustee for several years.
Most importantly, Charles was devoted to his Catholic faith as a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Warren, where he served as an usher.
A passionate storyteller, Charles captivated those he loved with his wit and charisma. His sense of humor brought joy into our lives, and his kindness was a guiding light.
Charles will be deeply missed by his children, Charles T. Wolbert Jr., Michelle Marie Holmes (Ronald Holmes) and Danielle Marie Bario (John Bario); his grandchildren, Charles Clayton Wolbert (Courtney Wolbert) Giovanna Maria Bario, Crostifino Michael Holmes, Nicoletta Maria Bario, Arianna Maria Holmes and Jaden James Wolbert; and his great-grandchild, Canaan Charles Wolbert.
He created lasting memories with his family that will be cherished forever.
Family and friends are invited to pay tribute to Charles 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel of Warren, 1884 North Road NE.
A funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-St. Mary Church, 232 Seneca Ave. NE, Warren, OH 44481, with the Rev. Ed Stafford presiding.
Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Charles' name to the St. Mary Church Building Fund, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, OH 44483, and to Hospice House Compassus in Woodworth.
