BRISTOLVILLE -- Willie Gene Johnson, 80, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1945, in Bonny Blue, Virginia, a son of the late Margaret Lewis and Samuel Johnson.
Willie served in the Army. He then worked at General Motors until his retirement.
Willie enjoyed gardening, fishing and boating. He was an active member of Champion Church of God and liked attending men's fellowship. He also loved spending time with his family, particularly his wife, until her passing.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Lou Johnson; sons, Willie Johnson Jr. and Timothy (Cheri) Johnson; grandchildren, Briana (Reed), Victoria (Mitchell) and William (Lana); great-grandchildren, Fisher, Melanie, Willow and Ryett; and brothers, Roger (Debbie) and Robert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Johnson, and siblings, Caroldeen, Gladysann, Samuel Jr. "Buddy," Gloria Jean, Darlene, Carry Jane, Hardy "Tommytoe," Michael and Donald.
Services will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at Champion Church of God, 590 Center St. E., Warren, OH 44481. The Rev. Dennie Land will officiate.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, and 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, at the church.
Carl W. Hall Funeral Home has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
