Virginia R. Holbrook 1931-2025

WARREN -- Virginia Ruth Holbrook, 94, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at her home.

She was born in Soldier, Kentucky, on May 5, 1931, a daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Goldie Rayburn Holbrook.

Preceding her journey to Heaven were her sister, June; three brothers, Raymond, Clester and the Rev. James Holbrook; and grandson, Dominic D. Romeo.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Gloria Jean (Herb) Simpson of Sarasota, Florida, and Diana Lee (Chris) Bicking of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two grandchildren, Nycole Dominique Romeo and Joshua Tyler (Elizabeth) Bicking; and great-grandchildren, Bennett Christopher and Margo Leann.

Ginny was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was a breast cancer survivor and worked for over 20 years at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, volunteering at the gift shop until 2020. She enjoyed coffee and burnt toast every day at noon, as she was not an early riser. She loved listening to Willie Nelson and bluegrass music. Ginny's version of dancing (clogging) was a sight to see. She was a jokester and always made everyone laugh with her clowning around. She was the ultimate crazy cat lady and spoiled all her feline friends.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, at the Warren Revival Center, 4400 W. Market St., Leavittsburg, OH 44430.

Friends may call 11 a.m. to noon Monday at the church.

Interment will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Ginny's love for animals, donations in her name may be made to Angels for Animals, 4750 state Route 165, Canfield, OH 44406.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
