CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Marilyn Elizabeth Wolfgang, 81, passed away peacefully into eternal rest, Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, under the care of hospice at Danbury Woods Memory Care in Cuyahoga Falls.
She was born April 3, 1944, in Warren, the daughter of the late Harry Gale Wright and Mary Marcella Kolarsky Wright.
Marilyn was formerly of Newton Falls, where she graduated from Newton Falls High School in the Class of 1962, and had lived in Tallmadge since 2003.
She married the love of her life, Gary L. Wolfgang, on April 4, 1970; they enjoyed 55 years of marriage together until his death on Aug. 23, 2025.
Marilyn worked for the Ravenna Arsenal before becoming a mother and devoted housewife.
With her husband, she was an active member of Tallmadge Methodist Church. Marilyn was also a member of the TUMC Altar Guild.
She enjoyed reading, music, church activities, watching college football and spending time with her family.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary; one sister, Evelyn Wright Meier; and one brother, Dale Wright.
She is survived by her son, Tim and Heidi Mazanetz Wolfgang of Kent; one sister, Jane Wright Lewis of Louisville, Kentucky; and two granddaughters, Carley and Corinn.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, with the Rev. Scott Low officiating. The family will receive friends for calling hours 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Marilyn will be laid to rest beside her husband, Gary, in Newton Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that all donations please be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, in her memory.
