Jenny Darrollene Sisler Mayse 1942-2025

CHAMPION -- Jenny Darrollene Sisler Mayse passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Morgantown, W.Va., to Darrold and Genevieve Sisler.

Jenny attended Morgantown High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball, performing with the school band on French horn and competing in dance. She attended West Virginia University, where she played basketball and pursued a degree in education. After accepting a teaching position in Huron, she finished her education degree at Bowling Green State University and later earned a master's degree in early childhood development from Kent State University.

Jenny had a deep love for children, which guided her long and meaningful career. She worked as a gym teacher at Huron High School and North Royalton High School, as a day care director in Colorado City, Arizona, and as a teacher at Fairhaven and Weaver Schools.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, David Mayse; her son, Lee (Kim) Mayse of Concord; her daughter, Amy (Jason) Hanna of Aurora; her cherished grandchildren, Nolan Mayse and Bailey Hanna; her brother, Jim (Janet) Sisler of Moorefield, W.Va.; and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Sisler of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Darrold "Butch" Sisler, and her sister, Jean.

To celebrate Jenny's life, a picnic will be held 1 to 6 p.m. Nov. 14, 2025, at Lake Erie Bluffs Lane Road Shelter, 3301 Lane Road, Perry Township. All are welcome, so please join us for pepperoni rolls, chili dogs and embellished stories.
