CHAMPION -- Dorothy Lee Green, 93, passed away surrounded by loved ones, Sunday evening, Oct. 26, 2025, at Shepherd of the Valley-Howland, after a brief stay.

Dottie was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Webster Springs, W.Va., a daughter of the late Dr. Omar and Opal Turner Ressegger.

Dorothy graduated from Webster Springs High School in 1950. In 1954, she graduated from Fairmont State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education.

She began her teaching career at Garfield School in Warren. During her six years teaching in Warren, she met and married her husband, Eugene. They were married 67 years and resided in Champion, where they raised two daughters, Pamela and Lisa. Dottie returned to teaching for 24 years in Champion Local Schools, retiring in 1991.

She was an active member of Champion Presbyterian Church, where she taught in Sunday and Bible schools, advised the youth group and served on various committees. She was a member of OCCL and the local, state and national educational organizations, including Trumbull County Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela (Dale) Goist of Kinsman and Lisa (Matthew) Carson of Akron; grandson, Zachary Carson; granddaughter, Katelyn (Brandon) Hamrick; step-grandson, Justin Goist; and great-granddaughter, Hazel Hamrick.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Omar and Lewis; and her loving husband, Eugene.

Dorothy was strong in spirit and a caring wife, mother and friend.

Family and friends may call 10 to 11 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. NW, Champion.

Burial will be in Champion Township Cemetery.
