CORTLAND -- We the family of Darlene Templeton Hancock, 71, are sad to announce she passed away Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, following medical complications of a brain aneurysm suffered many years ago. Her struggle ended peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, while in hospice care.
Darlene was a gift to us all, with her infectious laughter, big smile and amazing hugs. She loved her family and friends. She cared deeply for her pets and rescue animals. She loved traveling on bus trips or in the car to visit friends and relatives in far off places.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Hancock; stepdaughter, Sara (Todd) Goebbel and grandsons, Tyler and Drew; her mother, Martha Templeton; sister, Deanna (Denny) Wadding, and brother, Bob Templeton; sisters-in-law, Lisa Hancock (Kevin) Menz, and Linda Hancock (Rick) Germ and Roberta Templeton; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Eric and Bill Templeton, and her father, Darl Templeton.
Her passing leaves a massive hole in our hearts and lives, but she is in a better place with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
There will be no services.
