Michael Lagaras 1942-2025

WARREN -- Michael Lagaras, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, departed this life peacefully Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born March 26, 1942, in Boardman. He served his country in the Army from 1963 to 1969. He was a devoted husband of over 50 years to his wife, Barbara. Their love and partnership were the foundation of a beautiful life together. He was a proud and loving father to his five children, Randy Welch (Lisa), Brian Lagaras (Virginia), Mikel Lagaras (Toni), James Lagaras (Kelly) and Alana Smith (Jesse), who will continue to carry his values and enduring legacy.

Michael built his life on a firm foundation in Jesus Christ. He was a quiet example of Christ's love, living with humility and purpose, always leaning on prayer and trusting in God's promises.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, who now welcome him into eternity. He is survived by his loving wife, his children, 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his wisdom, his stories and his steady, unconditional love.

To know Michael was to know someone who put others first, who showed up faithfully, and who walked humbly with God. His legacy is one of compassion, kindness and an enduring faith that touched everyone around him.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held noon Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at The River Church (4257 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44485). Visitation will take place 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 27 at the church. Cremation services have been entrusted to Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
