Viola M. Bailey 1932-2025

NEWTON FALLS -- Viola M. Bailey, 93, passed away peacefully into eternal rest, Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at Country Club Rehabilitation assisted living in Newton Falls.

She was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Warren, the daughter of the late William A. and Donna L. Cook Kinnan.

Viola lived in Newton Falls her entire life and graduated from Leavittsburg High School in the Class of 1950. She married the love of her life, Richard F. Bailey, on June 15, 1957, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage together until his death, Oct. 30, 2009.

Viola was a housewife and mother, and was an active member of the VFW and owner of the Army / Navy Garrison for many years. She was a very great cook, and her special spaghetti sauce was loved by her family and will be missed. As she got older, she loved her Western shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; a daughter, Kimberly Peterson and son-in-law, Daniel Peterson; and sister, Betty L. (Kinnan) Hoffman and brother-in-law, Charles B. Hoffman.

She is survived by a niece, Christine Gibson (Gregory) of Lordstown; a nephew, Mark Hoffman (Debbie) of Warren; a great-nephew, Nicholas Gibson (Cara) of Leavittsburg; and two great-nieces, Kaitlin Gibson (Dawson Brown) of Girard and Tiffany Hoffman of Warren.

There will be no services.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Richard, in Newton Falls Cemetery.
