Keith E. Dunbar 1951-2025
WARREN — Ladies and gentlemen, we mark the checkered flag on an extraordinary life lived in the fast lane. On the morning of Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, Keith E. Dunbar pulled into his final pit stop, concluding a 74-year-long race fueled by passion, grit and relentless forward motion.
Born Jan. 7, 1951, in Titusville, Pa., Keith was the son of Bert and Virginia Dunbar, who passed on the fire that powered his engine. A proud graduate of Townville High School and later the University of Cincinnati, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management, Keith quickly shifted into high gear. He carved his track in the business world, founding Bral Corporation, and co-founding Transglobal and also Synergy Product Solutions — ventures less about the finish line and more about building a legacy strong enough to carry his family long after he exited the course.
Keith didn’t just live life; he raced through it. Whether tearing up the road in motorsport circuits or chasing perfection in his quest to find the perfect tomato, he approached each day like a qualifying lap — with precision, speed and a dose of unpredictability. His garage of interests included racing, blues music, golf, boating, animal rescue and the occasional practical joke — a reminder that even the best drivers know when to ease off the gas and enjoy the ride.
The pit crew he leaves behind includes his children, Alison Dunbar-Spencer (Marc Harvey) and Brian Dunbar; his beloved grandchildren, Nathan Dunbar, Madison Harvey, Thomas Spencer and Jacob Spencer; his siblings, Marshall (Katherine) Dunbar, Alan (Lyn) Dunbar and Donna (Stan) Evans; and his co-driver and best mate, Stuart C. McLeod of Aberdeen, Scotland. Keith also leaves behind a cheering section of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends — as well as two loyal team mascots, his rescue dogs, Meg and Barney.
Keith was preceded across the finish line by his parents and his brother, Dale Dunbar.
The celebration of Keith’s final podium will take place 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at Lane Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren. The post-race celebration of life begins at 6 p.m., where fans, teammates and fellow racers are encouraged to share their stories from along the track.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project, 909 Martin Luther King Blvd. SW, Warren, OH 44485; or the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, clevelandclinic.org — organizations that, like Keith, run on compassion and care.
Keith E. Dunbar’s race may be over, but his track marks remain, deep in the hearts of those lucky enough to draft in his slipstream. As the engines quiet and the sun sets on a storied career, we salute a man who never coasted — and always raced with heart.
And there it is, the checkered flag for Keith, after one hell of a race.
