David Allen Granelly 1947-2025
VIENNA — David Allen Granelly, 77, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025.
David was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Sharon, Pa., a son of John and Charlotte Davis Granelly. He was a 1967 graduate of Mathews High School.
He was a retired member of the Vienna Police Department and was the Vienna Road Superintendent for 28 years. He was a founding member of Copper Penny Lodge of Vienna, a founding member of Thunder Elite Softball and a member of Cortland Lodge.
David was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed watching his sons and grandkids play sports, coffee with his friends at Dunkin’ and smoking cigars at The Cigar Shop.
David will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife of 56 years, the former Denise Perry, whom he married Feb. 14, 1969; his sons, Brian Granelly and Christopher Granelly (Joy Bucci), both of Vienna; grandchildren, Zachary (Becca) Granelly, Tabitha (Travis) Smith, and Kalli and Preston Bucci; and great-grandchildren, Hudson and Hayes Smith, and Lochlan Granelly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Davis.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Kyle Funeral Homes Vienna Chapel, 4471 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at the funeral home, with calling hours 10 to 11 a.m.
David will be laid to rest in Vienna Township Cemetery, with full military honors provided by North Jackson VFW Post 9571.
