Leroy Lyons 1931-2025

Leroy was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Idamir, Pa., a son of John Marshall and Helen Irene Polasky Lyons.

Leroy met Stella Long, the love of his life, in 1948; they married in 1951 and built a warm and steady life together in Warren. They raised two daughters, Evelyn and Debbie, and one son, Jeffrey. Leroy absolutely beamed with pride when he spoke of his children, and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything in this world.

Leroy was a proud grandfather of Bob, Mike, Justin and Brooke; and great-grandfather to Noah, Layla, Oliver, Zane and one great-grandson on the way.

In his spare time, he loved camping, hunting, fishing and watching the Steelers. His employment history includes Grinnell and American Welding.

He is survived by his wife, partner and best friend of 73 years, Stella M. Lyons; son, Jeffrey L. (Debby Glass) Lyons of Warren; three grandsons, Bob (Amanda and her son, Aaron) Stahlman, Mike (Christine) Stahlman and Justin (Diana) Lyons; granddaughter, Brooke (Pierre Cruse); son-in-law, Robert Stahlman; and countless beloved nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his two daughters, Debbie J. Stahlman and Evelyn Pecoraro; son-in-law, Jim Pecoraro; two sisters and six brothers.

Leroy will always be remembered by everyone who knew him and loved him.

Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor David Black will officiate.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
