Helen P. Lesnoski 1936-2025
WARREN — Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen P. “Patty” Lesnoski, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland, with her loving family by her side.
She was born Nov. 26, 1936, in Warren, the daughter of Michael and Mary Churman Karafa.
Helen was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a lifetime resident of Warren. She worked at Warren Sanitary Dairy and was an amazing cook at John F. Kennedy High School, which aided in sending her children to Catholic school.
She was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker. Helen was an excellent cook and baker, and her family will miss all her wonderful dishes. She also loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with taking bus trips to casinos.
Helen was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish-SS. Cyril and Methodius Church in Warren. She volunteered her time at the church making pierogis, kolachi and Easter bread.
Her husband of over 69 years, Patrick M. Lesnoski, whom she married in 1955, passed away Aug. 2, 2021.
Helen will be deeply missed by her beloved children, Patrick (Patricia) Lesnoski Jr., Mark Lesnoski, Janet (Al) Knepper, Judy Fye, Jeff (Della) Lesnoski, Paul (Terri) Lesnoski, Carla (Bruce) Maggiano and Carol (Bill) Dunmire; her 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren whom she adored; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and her brother.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Helen from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025, at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish-Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, where a funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Father Edward Stafford as celebrant.
Helen’s family is planning a celebration of life at a later date in her memory.
Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.
