Ronald G. Layfield 1943-2025
LEAVITTSBURG — Ronald Gale Layfield, 82, of Leavittsburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Hospice House.
He was born May 11, 1943, in Warren, the son of the late Paul Kenneth Layfield and the late Florence Raber Layfield.
Ronald enjoyed hunting, running, gardening and music, and loved his family farm in West Virginia, where he frequently visited and hunted.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Gould of Leavittsburg; son, Doug Layfield of Bristolville; brothers, John (Barbara) Layfield and Russell (Doris) Layfield; sisters-in-law, Susan Layfield, Sally Layfield and Verna Roby-Wightman; brothers-in-law, Ronald, Jay and James Yocum; grandchildren, Shannon Bartlett, Seth Park, Douglas Jr., Lanaya and Morgan Layfield; great-grandchildren, Kyron and Alivia; and close friends, Charles and Betty Jaros, with whom he enjoyed weekly meals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Layfield; sisters, Edith and Betty; brothers, Gilbert, William and Donald; brother-in-law, Robert (Janet) Yocum; and a nephew, Donald Layfield.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m., followed by services at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the private family cemetery in Cairo, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions be made to Shriners or Hospice House Compassus of Poland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
