Glorian Rossi 1936-2025
WADSWORTH — Glorian Rossi, 88, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Wadsworth.
Born in Warren on July 6, 1936, Glorian dedicated her life to her family and her passion for dance.
A 1954 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Glorian went on to establish the Glorian Rossi Dance Studio, which she successfully operated for 48 years. Her commitment to the art of dance and her students was evident in the professionalism of her entertaining annual recitals. Glorian’s legacy includes inspiring many of her students to open their own dance studios and pursue professional careers in dance. Even years after retirement, she continued to receive letters from former students expressing the profound impact she had on their lives by instilling a love of dance, poise and self-confidence.
Motherhood was central to Glorian’s life. Her children and grandchildren were her utmost pride and joy, and she relished at-tending their various events and cheering them on. Her home was a reflection of her rich Hungarian heritage and her husband’s Italian traditions, always beautifully decorated during the holidays and filled with delicious food. Glorian also cherished her time attending Cleveland Browns and Indians games with her son, Byron, and spending time with Charlie, her beloved grand-dog. Her hobbies included frequent trips to New York City for dance training, attending Broadway shows, ballet performances, and shopping on Fifth Avenue.
She also had the honor of leading her dance team on a Glasnost era performance tour in Russia in 1990. Other trips to Las Vegas, Miami Beach and Italy were among her favorite memories. A talented seamstress, she handmade many costumes for her students. She enjoyed gardening and took pride in the beautiful flower gardens she worked tirelessly on after her retirement.
Glorian was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rossi; and her sister, Sally Montler. She is survived by her children, Michelle (John) Blondel, Byron (Dyana) Rossi and Melodee (Trent) Lundberg; grandchildren, Callie Crider, Alex (Jayne) Crider, Brandon (Aliya) Rossi, Angelo Rossi, Jakob and Liliana Lundberg; a great-grandson, Holden Crider; and a beloved sister, Evelyn Jones.
A memorial service will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the James Dance and Performing Arts Center.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Robins Theater in Warren, Ohio, or the Alzheimer’s Association, honoring Glorian’s love for the arts and her compassionate spirit.
