Frances M. Vega 1949-2025

WARREN — Frances Magdalena Vega, born and raised in Warren, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children, Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, at the age of 75.

A mother, a baba and a cherished friend, Fran will be remembered for her heart of gold, magnetic personality (virtual Yoga lessons were always fuller when she participated) and her unique style (relishing in her shopping trips to Victoria’s Secret).

Born April 11, 1949, Fran was a true free spirit — whether she was horseback riding, making macrame with her mother or hosting unforgettable Christmas dinners in her home, she was always creating memories. Some of her fondest memories included camping trips with her children while growing up, going to Acapulco, Mexico, with her sister and visiting her grandchildren in Hawaii. Those moments, filled with love and laughter, became the foundation of what family meant to her.

Frances started her career at 18, working at Packard Electric while attending nursing school. She retired from Packard as an LFT manufacturer in 2003. Although she didn’t finish nursing school, the skills she learned were put to good use throughout her life.

Above all, Frances lived for her family. Her children, Tina M. Vega, Paul T. Vega (Nikki Marchand) and Joe J. Vega, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren will carry her drive and free spirit in their hearts forever. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews who were all blessed by her love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Mikusevich; and her brother, Frank M. Mikusevich.

Fran always wanted to be remembered as loving, caring, giving, and most importantly, fun. In true Frances fashion, the celebration of her life will be one for the books.

A memorial will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Peter and Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.

Although Fran would have liked for everyone to wear clown costumes, please dress as you normally would for a memorial service.

To honor Frances, the celebration of life will continue with dancing and rock n’ roll — because that’s how she would have wanted it.

Details on the celebration of life location will be shared at the memorial.
