Karen S. Thompson 1952-2025

HUBBARD — Karen Sue Thompson, 72, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at home with her loving husband by her side.

She was born May 12, 1952, in Cameron, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Paul T. Metea and the late Thelma D. Chambers.

She was a 1970 graduate of Howland High School and married Ronald C. Thompson on July 12, 1980.

Karen worked many jobs and eventually retired as a custodian at Vienna United Methodist Church after five years.

Karen was an active member of the Vienna United Methodist Church. She was a member of Bazetta Firefighters Auxiliary and was a founding member of the Perrysburg Fire Auxiliary. She loved quilting and traveling with her husband.

She leaves in the Lord’s hands, her husband of 44 years, Ron Thompson; daughters, Carolyn (Nick) Fox and Daphne (Bryan) Zeigler; brother, Scott P. (Sharon) Metea; grandchildren, Hayleigh, Hadleigh, Avery and Sloane; as well as many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her twin infant daughters, Beth and Melinda.

Memorial services will be held in May at the Vienna United Methodist Church.
