Michael J. Blazina 1939-2024

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Michael J. "Mike" Blazina, 85, unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at Advent Health Hospital.

Born Aug. 10, 1939, to Michael and Marie Pavlik Blazina in Girard, Mike served in the Army National Guard Reserve 348th Engineer Company at Fort Bragg.

He worked as an electrician at Copperweld Steel in Warren for over 40 years.

Mike loved everything sports, Corvettes and Harleys. He was obsessed with health and fitness, and could often be found at his gym. He played in the Greater Daytona Senior Softball League until the day he passed away.

He most cherished his children and grandchildren. Mike was always the first person to wish everyone a happy birthday at midnight.

Survivors include his children, Michele Blazina of Naples, Florida, Danielle (Phillip) Meyer of Canfield, and Gabrielle Blazina and Michael Blazina, also of Naples; brother, Jimmy Blazina; sisters, Mary Ann Mullins and Dorothy Blazina; and grandchildren, Alexandra Rapoport, Nicole (Patrik) Bozok, Haley (Josh) Kirby and Gabby Meyer; as well as countless nieces, nephews, close friends, neighbors and teammates whom he loved dearly.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gene, Larry and David Blazina.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at Lehman Funeral Home in Port Orange, Florida.
