Michael D. Morrel Sr. 1956-2024

He was born at Camp Pendleton, California, on Dec. 14, 1956, to the late Delbert and Wilma Morrel, moving to the Warren area at a young age.

As a young man, Mike loved racing cars and motorbikes and karate.

In the 1970s, he was a roadie for Poobah, a local rock band.

He went on to work as a steelworker at United Steel Service in Brookfield and worked security at Sprint before he retired.

Mike was a kind and gentle man of few words who loved his family and his country. He enjoyed walleye fishing, loved Vasilio’s Old World pizza and took special pride in his yard and his tomato plants. Never missed a NASCAR race — go Dale and Dale Jr.

He leaves his fiancee, Donna Zarlengo, with whom he shared 15 wonderful years; his son, Michael Jr. and daughter-in-law Sandy of Little Valley, New York; sister, Carrie Tudor and her husband Charles of Kinsman; his stepmother, Dolores Morrel of Cortland; and his best friend, Ed Green of Girard. He was grandpa to four and loved Donna’s family as his own.
