JAMESTOWN, Pa. -- Joan E. Watson, 90, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, in The Grove at Greenville of natural causes.
She was born on March 16, 1934, to Paul and Carrie Kurtz Kress in Wheeling, W.Va.
Joan graduated from Newton Falls High School. She worked at Andover Industries in their Human Resource Department. She was a member of North Shenango Presbyterian Church in Espyville, Pa., and Champion Presbyterian Church in Champion, where she also worked for 10 years. Joan enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.
Joan is survived by a daughter, Patricia Patton (David) of Gasport, New York; two sons, Douglas Watson (Kara) of Hartstown, Pa., and Glenn Watson (Kathy) of Vienna, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Watson of Champion; her sister, Patricia Carrier (Richard) of Bay Village, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Watson, whom she married April 16, 1959 and he passed away March 7, 2020; a son, Thomas Watson; two sisters, Carol Kaziner and Paula Dunford; and two brothers, Thomas and Lee Kress.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m., with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service, Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at North Shenango Presbyterian Church, 10377 Church Road, Espyville, Pa.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church in memory of Joan.
