Robert Thomas Callahan 1933-2024

CHAMPION — Robert Thomas Callahan, 90, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at Windsor House in Champion.

He was born Sept. 17, 1933, in Grove City, Pa., the son of the late Charles Augustus and the late Florence Marie Amberson Callahan.

Robert retired from Van Huffel Tube after over 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He received the following decorations: National Defense Medal; Korean Service Medal; United Nations Service Medal; and Good Conduct Medal.

Robert enjoyed woodworking.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Evelyn Edith Harvey Callahan of Champion; daughter, Lynn Callahan of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother, Richard “Dick” Callahan of Champion; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Poe, Thomas Bremigan and Jonathan Bremigan; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Robert Callahan; brothers, Bill, Charles, James and John; and an infant sister.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
