NILES -- Leora M. Hughes, 79, passed away Thursday morning, July 18, 2024, at Continuing Healthcare of Niles.
Leora was born on Aug. 15, 1944 in Alberton, Pa., a daughter of the late Lewis and Lillian Barnes.
She went to nursing school in St. Petersburg, Florida, to become a LPN. After working as a nurse, she worked at the Genie Factory in Alliance until she retired. She was a loving mother and enjoyed being around her family. She looked forward to family reunions to visit with her siblings.
Leora will be deeply missed by her sons, Dennis (Sylvia) Teeters and Michael Teeters; stepchildren, Trina Lenigar, Carla Hughes and Mark (Sharleen) Hughes; grandson, Eric Teeters; and siblings, Wilbur "Bud" (Betty) Barnes, Nancy (Ron) Sanor and Bonnie (Jim) Diglaw.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Teeters; stepson, Carl Hughes; and siblings, Donald Barnes and Audrey Leapline.
Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, located at 180 Garfield Drive NE, Warren. After cremation, she will be laid to rest, with her son, in Greenhaven Memorial Park, Canfield.
