HOWLAND -- Mary Ann Roberts, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her side, Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
Mary Ann was born Nov. 23, 1940, in Warren, a daughter of the late Reynold and Erma Eddy. She was a 1958 graduate of Howland High School and attended Thiel College. On May 12, 1962, she married the love of her life, Frank E. Roberts Jr., in Pittsburgh, Pa., and they began their family.
She worked at First Place Financial Corporation for many years. She served in many capacities, including as executive secretary to the president and administrative assistant to the board of directors. She was a true professional. She also volunteered for the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Mary Ann was known for her warm and engaging personality. She enjoyed her community, her home and socializing with her friends. She enjoyed golfing with Frank and traveling extensively throughout the United States and to several foreign countries with Frank and longtime friends. In retirement, she looked forward to winters in Venice, Florida. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and being part of their activities and accomplishments.
She was a longtime member of Living Lord Lutheran Church congregation in Howland and the Warren Junior Women's League.
Mary Ann will be sadly missed by her daughters, Shelly (Kenton) Anderson of Cortland and Kimberly (Mike) Roberts Machovina of Avon; grandchildren, Sarah, Kevin and Kyle Chopko; sister, Renna (Tom) Knotek; brother, Jim Eddy; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Frank E. Roberts Jr., who passed away May 15, 2024.
Family and friends may visit 10 a.m. to noon Friday, June 7, 2024, at Living Lord Lutheran Church, 851 Niles Cortland Road NE, Warren, where a memorial service will follow at noon.
A committal service will take place at the chapel in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
