David R. Jones 1935-2024

He was born in Deep Valley, Pa., a son of the late Melvin B. and Virginia McGranaham Jones and had been an area resident most of his life.

He graduated from Hundred High School in Wetzel County, W.Va. and served two terms of duty in the U.S. Army, attached to the 3rd Armored Division and the United States Army Band.

He retired from Copperweld Steel, following many years of service.

David loved old Westerns on TV and cowboy movies, hunting, fishing and tinkering. If you had a small engine or electrical device that wasn’t working, he most likely would have it running in no time at all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Harry and Dick; and by two sisters, Nadine and Patricia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia “Pat” Jones; two sons, David “Wayne” Jones (Katherine) and Gregory Jones (Jenifer); and four grandsons, Anthony (Ashley) Jones, Brian Jones, Zachary (Brandi) Jones and Clarke Jones.

David is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., with military honors, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at noon, at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow in Pineview Memorial Park.
