WARREN -- Marie Drapcho, 60, entered into eternal peace, Thursday, April 25, 2024, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Jan. 25, 1964, in Warren, a daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Jenyk Drapcho.
She was a graduate of Howland High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Youngstown State University.
Marie worked at Kmart, Delphi and as a substitute teacher and Title I Reading Instructor for various school districts in the area. She had a heart of gold and was always available with open arms and a piece of candy for anyone who needed help. She was a loving daughter, sister and aunt who always put her family first.
Marie had a terrific sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling with her family. Her favorite adventure in life, though, was teaching. Following in her parents' footsteps, she excitedly answered the call to help educate and impart her wisdom and knowledge as a substitute teacher. Students always knew they were in for a fun day when Miss Marie would show up to teach.
She will always be remembered for her kindness.
She will be lovingly missed by her sisters, Maryann (John) Celidonio and Michele (Michael) Scott; sister-in-law, Alysia Drapcho; niece, Laura Celidonio; nephew, Joseph Scott; great-nephew, Owen; and great-niece, Elise.
Besides her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her brother, James Drapcho.
The family would like to thank the staff of Omni West-Westhaven and Akeso Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Ryan Furlong will officiate. Visiting will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta.
