WARREN TOWNSHIP -- Frederick Frank Wiecek, 79, of Warren Township, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his home.
He was born May 7, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Frank and Starr Howard Wiecek.
Fred was a 1962 graduate of the Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan. He then entered the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1965. He went on to become an ironworker at Republic Steel / WCI in Warren.
His hobbies included building model airplanes and oil painting.
Survivors include his children, Linda (Arnold) Alt of Davenport, Iowa, Jennifer (Kurt Schober) Wiecek of Warren, Frederick Scott (Schyler) Wiecek of Charlottsville, Virginia, and Kimberly (Walter) Deecki of Warren; 12 grandchildren; and his siblings, Daniel Wiecek of Santee, California, Glenn Wiecek of Florida, Ronald Wiecek of Seattle, Washington, Kevin Wiecek of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Cornell Wiecek of Michigan and Patricia Meers of Pleasureville, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Wiecek.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
Following all services, Fred will be cremated and his cremains will be buried in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
